Ray Didinger is a longtime sportswriter and commentator who has closely covered the Philadelphia Eagles football team. He was born on July 8, 1946, in Pennsylvania and grew up in the city of Philadelphia. He graduated from Temple University where he wrote for his school newspaper, The Temple News, and worked part-time for The Philadelphia Bulletin.
Didinger began his career as a sportswriter with the Bulletin in 1969, covering various sports including football and basketball. In 1975, he became a full-time beat writer for the Eagles and remained in that role until 1995. During his time as a beat writer, Didinger received numerous awards for his work and was inducted into the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame in 2012.
In addition to his work as a writer, Didinger has also worked as a television and radio commentator, including as a sideline reporter for Eagles games. He has also written several books about the Eagles, including "Eagles Encyclopedia" and "The Eagles: A Complete History of Philadelphia Eagles Football".
Didinger is now considered a prominent voice in Philadelphia sports media and continues to write and commentate on the Eagles and other sports teams in the city.
